Sure, but it likely won't become available.

BBMo only committed to one letter upgrade, and it already got Oreo.

Well, that's the February 2019 patch. Nothing beyond that yet.

As much as i would like Android Pie for the KEYone, i really doubt we will get it. The Priv was as soon as possible abandoned. I think the same will happen with the KEYone, once its guarenteed monthly updates are delivered.

PRIV... BlackBerry was out of the hardware business before it reached a year old (at least the PRIV got a letter).

KEYone, BBMo is trying to build a business here. And one of their core customers is Enterprise. You have to keep up with your competition and for Enterprise, that is Apple, Samsung and even Google devices.... one letter and two years of patches isn't going to cut it.

Now it's being taught that the two years of patches will be three years... maybe they'll add another letter upgrade too. It would be a very nice surprise.. but no, don't count on it.

I don't think TCL agrees with your statement for business. I can see them provide 3 years of monthly patches instead of just two, but not another major Android upgrade.

I hope TCL does agree with his statement for business. These newer Key devices are the most functional physical keyboard devices to ever have been made. I know some will defend their favorite former BlackBerry devices and OS. I have my favorites from usage and OS (OS7 9900, BlackBerry 10 Classic) but none have been as functional with modern app usage and capabilities as my BE KeyOne. If I don't get PIE I am OK as I knew the possibility when I purchased new in January. But I am hopeful for security support through 2021 as the BE was not available for sale in NA until March of 2018.

Maybe not... that's why I expect Apple to keep dominating enterprise. A five year life cycle makes even an Apple phone a value.

Thanks... if things hold true to form I'm guessing the next security patch I'll see will come at the end of May.

    How so?

93% of all BBMo device variants are now on Feb patch.

Sound great when you say it like that. Yet when I look back over the past 7 months seeing I've only received two patches that greatness withers substantially.

Why do you think so? The KEYtwo came out pretty early after the KEYone.

Since device cycles are reported to be slowing down for some OEMs like BBMo/TCL recently...

Was 13 months later... but we haven't seen anything to support it is coming and BBMo made it sound like late this year or early next year.

Don't see anyway they can hold PIE for the next new BBMo product, as it ought to be running Android Q if it is released next year.

I think that using the swipe up features of pie would be horrible because of the soft keys on the keyone. it would make it difficult to use imo unless you got really good at swiping from the bottom without activating the soft keys.

You can always remap them to do nothing.

    Google for sure.

Several other flagship models do too, like Galaxy S and Note.

    OnePlus gets good treatment.
