I've been through a lot of KEYone (mostly from the screens falling off haha) and activated the most recent one a couple months ago. The problem is several apps aren't available anymore for this device. I even had to sideload an older version of Slack because it's no longer available. I've also had apps removed recently (like Tripit), which I didn't know they could do. Several of the apps I use frequently are gone or can't be used. I'm also finally running out of KEYones and nonworking ones to use for parts.

I can't use a virtual keyboard phone (and believe me, I have tried so many but I have hand issues) and iOS didn't work for me, so I'm kind of at a loss here. Is there any real keyboard add-on device for an Android phone?

I've seen the AstroSlide and the Titan. The AstroSlide seems kind of like overkill and hard to type on in practice like if you were walking. The Titan seems ok except for it sounds like security issues? I would probably worry more about that but I was caught up in the OPM hack and I'm not sure what more information I still have to lose.

    Anything I've missed? Thanks!

There are no current secure pkb phones on the market today.

Bite the bullet and buy a Pixel, Samsung, or Apple. They offer at least 5 years of security patch support.

Thanks, but I don't really see the utility in buying a phone I literally cannot use.

I love my Titan Pocket. The size is reminiscent of the Q10, or the BB Bold 9900, but with s superfat battery and a totally functional operating system. I had also bought the Titan Slim but like the Pocket alot better. Now, you have to have good eyesight for kinda small print, and you are likely to want to carry a second device with a larger screen sometimes, but the Pocket can happily do it all alone in any given day. I spot-hot with an app called netshare that allows for sharing your data without the hotspot app, because for me the hotspot feature won't work with my carrier on Unihertz products, so its6an easy workaround you will only have to set up once, but it needs to be installed on both the giving device snd sny device that is receiving, can spot to two devices at once even . We do what we have to, don't we!

I own and still use my BlackBerry Q10, which is the same size as the Titan Pocket, but my daily driver is my Titan. I haven't used either Key phone or the Titan Slim so I can't speak for that format. The Titan's almost square screen is something I have come to love whether it's for handling documents or photography. When I switch to a landscape screen, something seems wrong? I use the Titan's camera as an avid photographer and also in my line of work where detail and color representation are important. The Titan is 4G which has been nothing but wonderful. I work in a gazillion out of the way job sites between Buffalo, Cleveland and Pittsburgh and not one time have I ever found my phone not to work when other phones did work. I bring my laptop with me on many occasions and tether off the Titan without any problems, ever. In fact, my only internet connection for over a year has been the Titan. My carrier is T-Mobile. I have been here at CrackBerry for about 10 years and I don't remember any hoopola about the Q10's phone security when I was years from any last security updates but now when another competitor to the BlackBerry legacy arrives, this is suddenly the end of the world. If you buy a Titan series phone, upon opening the box and handling it you'll be surprised at the build quality. Upon reading comments here as to Unihertz building "Chinese junk", it shows me who here can be relied upon for a non hysterical honest opinion.

That's because BB10 enjoyed security through obscurity, and also had decent sandboxing capabilities that reduced your Android apps' abilities to slurp up your private data.

Security patches are, however, critical for keeping Andoid devices safe from hackers.

Unihertz uses cheap, off-the-shelf parts in its devices. That's not to say that the phones can't be solid in the hands. My Pocket seems well assembled.

But I personally use the term "junk" when describing phones from a company that does not have a security team, does not enjoy regular and/or timely updates, does not have an official security commitment or policy, and does not use vetted, safe, quality components.

I hate to agree with Conite and we rarely see eye to eye, but on theses points he is 100 percent correct. I purchased a few Unihertz phones to play with in the end they abandon the phone in about 8 months. Get one of the recommended in the end you will be fine.

I have a question if I unlock the phone to install an updated OS (Unihertz) once done will it pick up OS updates like a computer?

Not conite, but if you are talking about Lineage, you will have to manually update, so no, no OTA. There is an OTA updater tool for Lineage in a general sense but does not work for Unihertz builds.

Thank you , that’s what I thought. I would like to install a new version on the phone but instead back to being a toy.

There is the Pro1 X - F(x)tec as well.... but both the Pro1 X and the AstroSlide are backed by companies having money issues.... if you want to buy one of those, I'd only do it from an existing owner a this point.

Unihertz is really the only choice, but I'd be very careful about using one.... there are a few reasons they couldn't sell more that a few thousand units to PKB lovers.

There just isn't a viable market for PKB phones, so there are none to be found these days. Even the Kickstarters weren't making money on them.

As for add on devices.... nothing that anyone really likes.
