    Clear your Cached Data, and then reboot. Wait 5 minutes for it to settle.

    Calibrate your expectations to how it runs in this condition.

    Most of sms app should be pretty light but I use Google Android message app.

    I disabled the PKB and VKB, then never noticed any lag again.

    OP, seriously...if you don't know it's lagging, it probably isn't.
