"Just a reminder for all - as we bring BlackBerry KEY2 to market we WILL be updating BlackBerry KEYone and BlackBerry Motion to 8.1 Oreo so that our entire lineup has the same security posture."

Oreo update details for KEYone (and Motion)-screen-shot-2018-06-11-3.13.08-pm.png

So as I've said for a while now, once KEY2 drops, Oreo on KEYone and Motion will come too.

Looking forward to this, was fearing us KeyOne owners would be left in the dark after the Key2 is released.

China starts to sell KEY2 from today. And early pre-order regions will receive the phone by the end of this month. So should we expect Oreo this month?

Lots of app updates showing up in apkmirror today, some of which require Oreo to install or the knowledge of Chinese to use lol

Aurora isn't a BBMo/TCL device, so TCL isn't going to have anything to say about it.

But given the very different market that Aurora was targeted at, and the lack of promises about upgrading it, it may well not be updated.

IF Optiemus ever actually releases any phones... they too might be on a very different update path based on their market needs.

Although when they made a deal with TCL to bring the KEYᵒⁿᵉ to India, they obviously stipulated monthly patches. Of course TCL may have charged them for it whether they wanted them or not.

The timing will coincide with the first sale of phones in London as World time and everything else begins there.

    Interesting.
I had just assumed that us getting Oreo on our BBB100-7 KeyOne devices at the same time as the the others was a given.
Didn't think that Optimus could potentially throw a wrench in that plan.

As long as it is taking, I'd bet nothing except security patches
