    I'm confused, and alarmed.

    I'm on Freedom Mobile (Canada), with a Rogers KEYone (unlocked, obv). Oreo is running amazingly well! No more bluetooth issues, I can finally choose LTE without using a short code every time I get connected to the network.

    Buuuut, when my phones laying around it'll turn on the screen randomly (naturally draining the battery in the process, even if it's just a little bit every single time). Anyone else have this issue? Is there a fix? I'm not sure what to do.

    If someone has any tips, I went through the settings and could not find anything useful..

    Enable the Ambient Display for a few notifications and then disable it and reboot. It might just be tiggered on. Or your house is haunted, in which case, you can contact some exorcists - http://orderofexorcists.com/team-of-exorcists/

    I'm having the same problem. It is very distracting that it just keeps lighting up. Yesterday I left it on the counter and came back 10 min later and the screen as on full brightness and it was unlocked (I have screen lock set to 30 seconds). Not sure why it is doing this.

    Thanks Bla1ze, but that doesn't work...not sure about the haunted house thing though

    in my case, the keyboard alone lights up at night to assure I wander around dazed all day due to sleep deprivation...

    what is ambient display for...?? isn't it needed to see battery edge ? what else ?

    Update: Nope, battery edge works with ambient display turned off

    I believe ambient display turns the screen on when you get notifications.
