Honestly, probably no reason for it other than someone forgot the option even existed so it never got added back in on Oreo lol.

Soooooo.... for the 1/10th of a second that the spacebar is lit before you put your finger on the sensor the brightness disturbs you! That is disturbing ;-)

all these reported missing or broken features of Nougat with Oreo upgrade need to be listed someplace together so we the dumb dupes can decide whether to update or wait or skip it altogether...
