Agreed. Being a BlackBerry user is frustrating enough. Being a BlackBerry user on Verizon is like a complete feeling of abandonment.
    Agreed.

I can't help but to wonder, since Oreo was launched Aug. 21, 2017, if BlackBerry/TCL weren't trying desperately to get this update out before the year mark. The timing is quite the coincidence otherwise. Regardless, the Verizon KEYones didn't get it in time. I guess the new deadline is to beat the launch of Android P. Which launched Aug. 6.

    ...crap.

I wonder if being on the tail end of this update cycle may be a blessing, in that the bugs being caught by everyone else may get fixed before our update arrives. Is that possible? Or are they going to ignore the new bugs and release the build as though it's in a vacuum?

Does the Oreo delay for the VZW model have anything to do with VZW certification process like with KEYone release and lack of certification on VZW?

should have nothing to do with Verizon, since they have never sold it.

But CDMA device and requires certification on their network. Just ask everyone about Key2 and Verizon non-certification.

We don't really know what the relationship is, but one must assume that Verizon, at least, has to whitelist the device for its features to work.

This is turn would require Verizon to do some testing.

Chuck, I believe you are correct in that. After your comments, I went, and used the Mobile Upgrade tool to see if there was a newer version of Android for my bbb100-3. It started downloading a version, which once I found where it was downloading it to, I opened up the file and lo and behold there were files that had vzw as an extension, in addition to those for other carriers.

Have always wondered why I wasn't getting security updates until the end of the month, when others had received them early in the month.

So, did the Verizon model upgrade eventually using Mobile Upgrade tool?

No, what Mobile Upgrade pulled down was the latest Nougat version for the BBB100-3. No Oreo yet for this model.

As everyone knows, I’m the non-IT Guy, so I’m not going to debate the merits or demerits. I will say as general overview regarding Verizon certified models, that if Verizon is this difficult with OS updates that involve significant cost, I wonder if BBMo/TCL considers that Verizon for all its mobileshare, is not worth the negative optics sometimes.

No idea what the deal with Verizon is here but there's obviously some arrangement where it must go through carrier testing. Why, I don't know. I've tried every Oreo load and it loads fine but no service. The KeyOne has an....interesting relationship with Verizon when they should really have none imho.

I have a hunch it's as easy as a switch having to be flicked at Verizon.

Well this is a bummer. I purchased an unlocked K1 from my local Best Buy store back in April and they gave me a BBB100-3 version even though I'm with AT&T.

No big deal for me. My K1 has worked like a champ since day one with zero issues, so I'm happy.

    Why is it BBMo's fault?

You saw what happened when you installed the OS on your device. Verizon has to allow it first.

So, BBMo is responsible for Verizon's internal actions? Should they send over the mafia to bust some heads?
