(old Interview) BlackBerry Plans to Release 2 New Phones by Feb. 2017, CEO Says
- The all touch comes first, it will be the better of the two devices per Chen... more of a mid to high device.
The PKB come by the end of the fiscal year... would expect Feb2017 or they would have said by the end of this calendar year. Just never know BlackBerry to be early... Feb 2017 is the end of his window, that's the earliest I would expect to see it.
But I expect that while Chen hasn't said it... he has left enough wiggle room so that if they release the "Hamburg" in August/September and it flops, the "Rome" won't see production.
So if you are a PKB user, you stick with what you have... or accept the PRIV for the time being. Or just hope, it's not like anyone else is making PKB devcies.
Use all touch users... there are plenty of options.

Don't think one should arrive at conclusions so quickly when we don't really know the future. We cannot tell the future, unless you have some magical concoction or device to do so. It's always people saying either too fast, or too late.06-24-16 07:15 PMLike 0
- I dont know whats happening inside that company. Loosing is something when we are competing. But i think they dont even want to compete. If there is a will, this company can survive with a good strategy considering todays device industry. But the CEO is not confident to do that. So i dont think its end in good way.
Eagerly waiting for rome. Its been 6 months. My phone is failing. I wish it will release before my phone die. If not i dont have any other choice than buying another brand.

Release the Rome it's a different phone from the rest of the android phones on the market today

People who switched to ios and android have accustomed themselves to the on-screen keyboard. Trust me most of them wouldn't care for the pkb anymore. For them pkb is history. What they want is an excellent camera, superb build quality, top notch specs, and cool accessories . These are the things that made apple and samsung rule the mobile market.
I have the Priv, loved the BlackBerry version of Android but hated the build quality. I'm back on the Passport for two reasons, the amazing build quality and ofcourse the hub. I'm sure the hub on android will be perfected in time with its share of updates. IMO it's a brilliant move by Chen to outsource the hardware. It should just select the right vendors. I feel the designs of Nokia and Sony would come closest to a BlackBerry which the loyalists would also love. Thanks to Mr. Chen for giving us masterpieces like passport, classic and priv. I'm sure BlackBerry is gonna survive under his leadership.
Long live BlackBerry.

I came from PalmOS, then webOS, briefly BB10 and now Android.
There's also those who never left Android who's still trying to keep their Droid 5, Relay 4G running and in dire need of a replacement.06-29-16 06:11 AMLike 0 - My mother (I am 28 by the way) still uses her bold. I showed her the Rome render. We are eagerly waiting for it to happen.Plazmic Flame likes this.06-29-16 09:16 AMLike 1

This is why i have to put that disclaimer on all of my comments, the one time I forget I get the misinterpretation as usual... You stated that anyone who uses iOS or Android will get accustomed to the vkb and would no longer desire the physical keyboard. I'm stating that unless I am special and am the only person who gets more out of a keyboard than simply typing, that while I can type on a vkb, I still desire a pkb for the multitudes of advantages it has...
Posted without the aid of AutoCorrect with my physical keyboard via CB1006-29-16 10:33 PMLike 0 - I own the Priv and the Passport, everytime I'm socialising, I get all the attention for the phones. Everybody is all praises about the phone but then the big question pops up, how much did it cost? The price dampens the spirit of most of them. Not that they can't buy it, but they don't want to invest that much on BlackBerry because at that price they can get the latest apple or samsung and then get an amazing resale the next time they upgrade. I'm based in India and trust me BlackBerry has an amazing brand value here till date. The problem is Everybody is all praises but none are ready to buy. These days I don't receive long emails from clients, rather they whatsapp me. Because it's a short msg I have to get back to them to understand their needs. I know it's a really unprofessional way of communicating but this has happened cos it's not that enjoyable to type on the vkb. These guys need to try out the BlackBerry keyboard. Moreover they must know that such a thing exists. Making awesome stuff and not advertising it, why BlackBerry why?
I could type such long msgs cos it's the Passport. The Priv is also frustrating for me at times. The point here is low/mid range phones running BlackBerry android without pkb and mid/premium phones with pkb. And ofcourse not naming them leap or priv. There are better four letter words out there. Lol

They so need to play to their strength, in the arena where there is ZERO competition, release the ROME!!!!
