I have 20$ left on my current device. if I upgrade its 30$ more a month on the new plan at Rogers ,that's 360$ a year, times 2 years ,that's 720$ plus the 199$ up front and at the end of 2 years my plan wont drop 30$ . I bet if I upgrade in 2 years the plan will go up another 30$. I think if I want this phone I will have to buy it outright when I get there instead of upgrading

You are correct about the monthly fee not reducing which in itself is a scam by the Robber Baron. In my case the monthly increase is CAD20.00 or CAD240.00 X 2 years totalling CAD480.00 + upfront device cost of CAD199.00 making it CAD680.00. My other option is the rumoured off-contract price of CAD679.00. Only CAD1.00 difference overall but less cash upfront wit the first option. If I switch to Koodo for the same voice, messaging, and data plan I would have to pay CAD679.00 for the device plus the early termination fee which I think is capped at CAD200.00 with about CAD35.00 remaining on the tab along with the monthly plan fee. So approximately CAD915.00 to escape Rogers Wireless with a new BlackBerry KEYone and moving to Koodo. Too bad Koodo is not selling the BlackBerry KEYone. I received an email only minutes ago about my reservation device being shipped by Roger Wireless. Decisions. Decisions.

Would be shocked if a Rogers BB didn't work on Fido. Their phones are usually interchangeable, only sometimes locking after sim inserted.

Many times it locks to the first sim you insert either fido or rogers so be careful

They're not. But many stores will let you check out their demo units or dummies if they have them and ask.

Actually, if you go to a Rogers Plus store (their corporate retail stores) they should sell the KEYone the day of launch and off contract as well. That's the way I have always done it in the past when buying from Rogers Plus. Otherwise I always go the factory unlocked route if I can.

Right , but that would mean "factory unlocked" big difference!. But you can buy the phone off contract with Rogers for full price on a month to month agreement.
You can pay $50 to make your phone factory unlocked if on a month to month.
