I'm considering buying the OEM dual layer case but would like to know if anyone has tried placing a metal plate between the layers for a magnetic mount. If so, did the outer layer still fit correctly?

I didn't but this case is pretty tight. I am sure it will fit but don't expect a clean fit.

Qi receiver fits OK. Just expect inconsistencies if you use Google Pay.

Mine scans on the PDQs just fine most of the time. At other times, the PDQ will try to read TWO card.

It seems to depend on theage of the card reader and the position of the handset to the reader at the time the phone become close enough to be read.

I can speak for the metal bracket only; it worked well and I had no issues with it its sticking out. When I tried a wireless charger it did stick out a bit

It's a great case for sure but my only issue was that it didn't protect the screen if you had the phone face down.

That's the kicker for me, being in meetings I like my phone face down for less distraction.
