Which FOTA method are you referring to?

Yep, what duneraver posted.
Couldn't seem to find password using method referenced.

Only thing that worries me is that the file it wants to download does not say AAP638 but the September Update called AAO472..;o(
Where to dial this?
NM,
Got it
Don't know. I think you have to enter once you have unlocked developer mode...
still waiting for September update what to talk of October. :(
after updating (with FOTA test) to AAP638 there is no way to again activate developer mode…
Yup. And you should go to
Settings -> Apps -> three dots menu -> Show System -> scroll down to "Updates" -> Storage -> Clear data
to make it work normally after updating. Because the emulation will still be set although the advanced mode isn't visible anymore. Clearing the data makes sure you will get future updates.
Thank you :)
So, this means they completely scraped developer mode?
I don't know yet. Have to check the APK file when I come home in a few hours.
I've gotten my UK unlocked K1 up to the new update but advanced settings in Update have definitely disappeared...
@mbirth, any updates?
Nothing in the UK....
After a first look, they seem to have removed the one function call that enabled advanced mode. The rest of the functionality is still there. I can't say anything more at the moment. I'll do some experiments…
That's a shame, now everyone is stuck with the carrier incompetence and has to wait. At least with the advanced mode the updates were available fast... :/
Wait for OTA maybe, but autoloader will be available.
They probably have some clause in their contracts with the carriers about this… so it's understandable.
But what irks me more is that they managed to get some sort of singularity with version AAO472 where BBB100-1, -2, -3 and -6 had the exact same firmware. That would have been a great way to consolidate updates and make it easier to switch to Oreo later. And now they're drifting away again with AAP683 (BBB100-1) and AAP638 (BBB100-2, -3 and -6).
why are monthly security updates necessary? who and what do they protect us against? Mine updated to September when I bought it last week BTW.
Here are the October patches for instance.

My S J7 just got updated. All the icons have changed. It now says Android 7.0. Think I've gone from M to N, right? And now got security patch august 2017. So behind the Keyone I'm writing on now.
I've got the ATT K1. Who knows how long it's going to take them to push the update. Probably never.
BBB-100-1 unlocked US GSM, AAP683 OTA update is released
