I got sick of waiting for this update so I used advanced mode in updates to emulate a different PRD for my model (BBB100-2) and it downloaded the update right away. it's just a shame advanced mode doesn't work with the October update as I would've used it to get the November update early as well.. ah well never mind

I would think it unlikely that all 35+ variants of the KEYᵒⁿᵉ will get an Oct update in the next 48 hours.

Look on the bright side. Those who are getting the newest October patch are getting the Krack fix before Apple and Google.

As security is one of Blackberrys core values they have potentially dropped the ball on the monthly security updates twice in a row!

Not impressed at the Blackberry experience keyboard and battery life aside.

Here is the KEYᵒⁿᵉ security patch record. Any delays beyond that are due to Regional or Carrier issues.

Okay. Then you are likely to get it first - before the competition. Blackberry was only notified on October 13th.

Regional issues..........? Give me a break!
UK unlocked got the shaft for 2 months.

No press release or statement from Blackberry to give me or people in my situation an update.

Monthly security updates mean global monthly security updates.

Tell that to every single smartphone manufacturer on planet Earth except for Apple.

Do you think maybe there might be something a bit more to it? Even Samsung has trouble using their influence to push it through Regional certifications.

Samsung do not advertise guaranteed monthly security updates.

I don't have a customer relationship with any of those companies nor do I care about them. So why the comparison?

Yes there may be a reason for it, and I am willing to give them that room (a second time) but I do hope they will improve it in the future.

That's all. Do you really have not an ounce of understanding for my point of view?

Sure. But you need to keep expectations realistic. BlackBerry has about 50-60 BlackBerry Android models and sub-variants to support. They were notified about Krack 2 weeks ago.

The fact that they have actually pushed the Krack patch to ANY devices (which they have) before Apple or Google is a significant testament to the BlackBerry team. That just can't be ignored.

    Nor does BlackBerry Mobile.

    "Best-in-class monthly Android security updates."

    Easily justified.

I don't believe the oct 5th patch has the krack fix in it. And with talking to bb they were going to release something specifically for that shortly.

AAQ302 has it. It's the second Oct patch now available on the autoloader server. OTA is imminent.

Where is the autoloader server? I can't get OTA now with advanced mode because I'm on AAP638.. Or is it worth me reloading AAO472 and trying advanced mode? Either way I'd really like AAQ302 - I just don't know the what the best way of getting it would be? Thanks
