So I just got the Oreo update on my KEYONE.

Whenever I receive a text it plays the system notification sound and vibrates. This isn't how it's set inside the Messages app. I'm new to Oreo so maybe I'm missing something but it seems pretty straight forward to change notifications.

Eh. Looks like wiping all app data and cache, disabling, re-enabling and updating fixed it. Weird.

I have this problem as well. How did you go about resolving it?

    Deleting cache ? Where?
And you mean wiping the entire phone?

Sorry, guys. The CB app didn't send a notification. Weird.

So I went into settings and then apps & notifications and tapped Messages. Tap on storage and then clear app data and cache. I went as far as disabling the app and then updating it from the Play Store.

I got a slew of BlackBerry App updates yesterday so it seems to be a problem with the BlackBerry Launcher because it broke Messages again. I repeated these steps but haven't received a text yet to confirm it still fixes it. I'll post here again if it does.

Well, I can confirm that my method works. Had to do it again this morning and it solved the notification issue again. I hope this helped at least one person.

When you clear the app data and cache does it delete all our text messages?

I'm having this issue with all of my notifications....I still haven't found a solution.

You'll lose your texts if you delete app data. Clearing the cache is fine.

I found each conversation with the update was set to default sound and vibrate and blink light.

I went in to each conversation and changed the settings.

Also any new conversation is being set to the main setting for the app.

No. I clicked on both. I still have over 97,000 texts in my phone. I don't know what it deleted though. My texts are still in tact.

This is a recent article (about the Pixel though) that also states you won't lose your texts:
