Because Att lost so much money from the Priv's being brought back.

That's fine. You don't want their bloatware. Save your money for a few months and buy it outright unlocked. I haven't bought a phone locked to a carrier for a while now.

What's the difference between GSM and the other one? Can't think of the letters of hand.

I would love monthly payments and hd voice. Maybe the next device. But also if you have seen hoe many issues this first run has compared to units sold - it doesnt seem something a carrier wants to deal with. I bet future shipped devices will be better.

I too have friends at att mgmt team - BB devices havent been trouble free aside for PP and classic. And even then sales were very low.

Unless you must have an update right away (not the OS) I don't understand buying outright. Rogers has no bloatware, just apps. I will pay $199, re-up my contact (10 mths on my PRIV left) and if I chose to pay it out at a $15/month remaining on my contract...getting the phone for way less than buying outright...keeping in mind I will be selling my PRIV and not keeping it.

AT&T went on a limb for BlackBerry with Passport and Priv. Sold few. Got stuck with a bunch of privs. We all enjoyed those low Priv prices but someone had to take a haircut on them. BlackBerry also didn't promote them either.

AT&T may not carry it, but that doesn't mean anything. My KeyOne is loving their network at the moment. I'm on straight talk through their antennas and it works smashingly well.

Just to clarify, I WANT you to be right... but

Your buddy also said that T-Mobile was going to have them in on the 28th, and clearly that did not happen.

I don't think you are purposely spreading misinformation, but I do think you are putting too much faith in a guy who clearly doesn't know

AT&T is a business. They did a press conference with BlackBerry to promote passport. How many US carriers offered th Passport? Then they offered the Priv and got burned just as Verizon got burned by the Storm. Well, maybe not as bad but they got burned. So a new company offers a phone and surprise, AT&T doesn't bite. At this point, what exactly does BlackBerry mobile bring to the table for AT&T?

They know that iPhones and Samsung phones will actually sell. That's why. It's not rocket science.

How would they know if some new phone will or will not sell if they don't offer it. Mr scientist.

Carriers are not phone distributors. They are telecommunications service providers whose business for consumers is selling service contracts. The fewer phones they need to stock to do that, the lower their costs are.
