The Aurora is not made by TCL.

I did. Here's the quote from CNET: "The company plans to release as many as three phones this year, TCL Communications Nicolas Zibell said in an interview on Saturday."

So it could be just the K1 this year, with possibly one or two more, and no mention of touch or pkb.

You're not alone. I would love to see a slider that is closer to an iPhone SE or Z10 size when closed. Good specs would be welcomed but also a matter of opinion. I think the KEYone is pretty solid all around. I'd rather 'good' specs and exceptional battery life than exceptional specs (which will only be considered such for 3 months or so at most) and a mediocre battery life (which will only get worse).

If they released a slider that was essentially the KEYone made more compact, I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Maybe they can even use that interesting patent where the keyboard pops up once deployed to be flush with the screen. https://www.blackberrycentral.com/ne...ing-patents-2/

Right there with you. I probably would have bought the Priv to try out a slider form factor if it wasn't so big.

I would wager that we already know what it will be. My suspicion is that it will be a PKB device with great specs. I'd guess that all the rumours of the Mercury with the 825 turn out to be partially true. They just can't say it so that buyers don't pass on the KEYone. Just my guess.....

I did. It said "The company is working on an all-touchscreen version, a spiritual successor to the DTEK 50 and DTEK 60 phones, which it also built for BlackBerry itself, according to a source familiar with the rollout plans. TCL will likely get rid of the DTEK branding, the source said."

    It doesn't say "spiritual successors".

It can't be true because there is no such thing as an 825...

My Question is how many phones do you want to release within the same year, one maybe 2, remembering that the BlackBerry market is small at the present time. Most folks will only purchase one phone every couple of years because of cost etc.
