Hi all, I took the plunge and bought an asian variant of the keyone today despite reading all of the horror screen lifting stories. Out of the box my device is already on the 5 July security patch and has a kernel version dating Jun 27. So I was wondering, how likely is my device from the revised batch? Is there any other way to find out? Sorry if this has been asked before.

Is there any date code (six digits) on the box? Should be on one of the labels with the phone's IMEI/stuff like that.

No, but it should be near that, if that's the one on the box. Six digits representing the manufacturing date; if it was built today it would say 240717, for example.

Probably not from the fixed batch. Someone posted in the mega thread that they purchased on July 15th and the screen lifted by the 18th.

It is very unlikely that the "new batches" have made it into the pipeline yet. The existing stock has to be sold off first.

We don't know how many very manufactured in the first production run, but it is unlikely that it has all been sold yet.

Waiting another 6 months is probably a good time period to ensure you have the "new batch"

If you buy it from TCL off Amazon, you're guaranteed to get one from the new batch of phones.

I'm not so sure about this. Wouldn't it stand to reason that they would get rid of their existing stock before releasing the new stock?

What is they manufactured 500,000 units on the first run?
