It amazes me that I'm still getting that reaction with my KeyOne; (Canada)

This a +2 year old device, and the wow factor is still out there.. Great marketing job TCL + carriers 😁

There is no doubt that it's a very different looking device from the sea of slabs...

People do like to gawk at a car accident... doesn't mean they want to have one.

Perfect world would have been a Samsung/BlackBerry partnership with at Galaxy Key.
Full Flagship S Series and value A Series - no PKB extra cost - full carrier support - some marketing. Then we'd know for sure that it was the form factor that people don't care for.

But at this point it looks like PKB just aren't very viable.

If only that were true... I know you aren't really LOL.

I hope once BB has left the market, someone else will try.... but based on the number for this year's sales????

Like you said yourself, unless someone like Samsung gives a serious shot at a modern PKB device with all the bells and whistles as their slabships and proper marketing and distribution... if such a device still flops and doesn't break even for them, then we will know that the PKB is destined to fail no matter how hard one can try.

any idea how many Unihertz Titans are in their pipeline ? …if that is substantial, could it perk up PKB interest from other players ??

that said, I am a slider afficionado...

I am addicted to the capacitive PKB

Titan nixed they capacitive feature likely under one foot (Blackberry) or another (TCL)...

I am waiting to see the device, but my hopes for it being myself fav are waning...

really I pine for a Priv² …sadly wasted grief...

my love of sliders emanates from my beloved HP Pre³ sadly gone forever...

    HP murdered Palm and webOS...

    BlackBerry murdered itself...

TCL is either going to run with it or become an accessory to phonicide !!

watching now gleefully as Apple & Samsung succomb to their own internal thanatos...

and there's more... MS is back with phones !!

truth be told, I sported a Motorola a3100 food a coupl'a years and found Windows Mobile to be quite OK...

fun for those of us who have no other fun...

Per their site there are 3K backers right now.

I'm sure they have some kind of minimum order being placed, for those that are one the fence and waiting for some reviews.

3000 will not pay the bills... it sure won't pay lawyers it the capacitive PKB goes to court

they crippled it to the toolbar...

I hope it was too late to redo the PKB and the capacitive hardware is in it... some jamoke will come out with a hack in a New York minute to fix that

I suggest the hack be titled "titanthatberry" or "upyourcapacitive"

With that small first run, they likely ordered components and family are assembling in a garage... we'll see how they do... if it's cool, it may do well...
