I have a feeling that BlackBerry wanted the 625 but were convinced or even overruled by TCL that they are better off with the 821. Would explain why they are delaying it and not revealing anything about it except to show it off.

Why do you think it's delayed? It was always slated for the end of fiscal 2017, which is Feb 28.

It's long beyond the point of design lock-down.

If it was TCL they probably even didn't want to use the 625, they would put the 410 if they can.

TCL-Alcatel isn't exactly known for flagships, their own flagship is actually the DTEK60 with a 1080p screen. DTEK60 is actually their most powerful phone.

So when I'm recording my son making farting noises for his grandmother to coo and tut over, everyone will be that much more satisfied?

Again, I just don't see the benefit.
Actually, you joke but plenty of tests have shown that 4k video, even shot from a phone, would rival 1080p videos shot from a DSLR... obviously a 4k video from a DSLR will be better, and a 4k video shot from a phone blown up full size might not be the best, but when scaled down to a 1080p video actually looks very impressive...

So when shooting video of like a concert, street performance, your friend singing karaoke, your friend doing a mountain bike jump, etc. Scaled down to 1080p would look amazing compared to a video shot in native 1080p from another phone.

I'm referring to the TCL 950, the DTEK60's Chinese cousin: TCL 950 goes official, brings 5.5" AMOLED, S820 and stereo speakers - GSMArena.com news

The Pixel is the first Android phone I've used that runs like an iPhone. And I have both. So, it IS possible for Android to run seamlessly, it just takes a lot of work from the OEM's end.
Had a go on a Pixel over xmas. Every time I entered the settings menu it closed it down after a few seconds every time.

MSM8953 (Pro) so must be 625 or 626.

The 626 would be great to have. It's a nice 10% performance improvement. Anything newer or better is always appreciated.

Two recent articles, common sense of a 2017 spec device, the cheap $499 price of the DTEK60 proving TCL can build cheap phones with high specs? Is that enough?

Look, I will not be surprised either way at this point, but the suggestion it's 100% 625 because of ONE "confirmed" leak is foolish.

Just the recent Tweeted videos prove multiple "confirmed designs" were not true.
S625 is a new CPU, not something outdate for 2017.

My PRIV is way faster than my Z10. Now, before you say anything keep in mind that the Z10 is a BB10 and your comment about speed is in regard to BB10 itself and not BB10 on a Passport.

    I win.
    Are you really comparing a device with a S4 Pro from 2012 and another with a S808 from 2015 ? Really ?
