    Too bad we live in Canada and TCL has no TLC for us when it comes to unlocked phones

    Looks like I won't be unwrapping anything shiny tomorrow morning...

    I'm assuming she was able to order but you'd have to wait a bit for delivery? If that's the case, then just be excited for your new device.

    No it was ordered May 31st. They said it can take up to 5 weeks. The carriers here run a monopoly so have blocked delivery and TCL won't give us any dates. Thought it would have been delivered by now.

    You can order at reseller sites like softwarecity.ca or cendirect.ca and they will put you in for a back order.

    As in it has been speculated that Canadian carriers may have an agreement that they get first rights to introduce locked phones in the market without competition for a specific period with unlocked versions.

    It appears to have worked as quite a few people gave up waiting and went and bought it direct from carriers and then paid the ransom unlock fee of $50.

    I was pretty close to cancelling my order myself but it works out cheaper for me to hang on and I like the idea of direct updates...
