It won't come on. It won't charge. Its just dead. No warning whatsoever. I live in Nigeria and found out when this happened that there is not one service/contact centre in the entire continent. I am more than disappointed. What to do?

@conite any ideas ?
Factory Reset the device. I'm pretty sure that's what he would recommend.
Where or how did you purchase the phone?
Is there a light when you plug it in?
Try a different charger and cable.
I would if it would come on. How do I reset a dead device?
No light whatsoever. We've tried 3 chargers. Nothing.
Same place I bought my BB passport which I used for 3+ years without any issue whatsoever. They are one of the few that still sell Blackberry phones. All other retailers have dropped the brand like hot coal.
Well, there's really nothing you can do then. You'll have to contact BlackBerry Mobile.
Here's a list of BlackBerry Mobile Support hotlines. Unfortunately Africa is not on the list. I would then probably try the UK or US support lines.

Jeez. Several of those addresses in that list appear to be formatted incorrectly or incorrect. Just scanned Austria and Germany. The Austrian one points to the German address but then seems to imply that the address is in Austria.
I think the best strategy would be to reach out to @bbmobile on Twitter for assistance or contact them by email. Either way, they should be able to direct the OP as to the correct contact point.
Thanks much. I noticed the same thing. Quite unfortunate.
may be worthwhile replacing the USB that may be damaged... a local shop could do it.
part is inexpensive...
DRC not listed for shipping, so contact the seller first to see if it's OK...

Years ago I remember a poster with a 9930 with a similar problem, phone dead, no response when plugged in, no lights. It was recommended to try stack charging, even though there was no light.
He plugged the charge cable usb into the phone then would plug the plug end into the outlet for 2 minutes, unplug for for 30 seconds, plug into the outlet for 2 minutes, unplug for 30 seconds...and kept that alternating sequence up for several minutes and ended with leaving it plugged in and after two series of that the light came on and the phone started charging and booted up.
Worth a try and it won't harm anything.
Yea that used to be necessary for Playbooks that sat a while. A trick to use for doing this is to use a powerstrip with an on/off switch. Plug the strip in to a power source, then JUST plug in the device charger, THEN use the on/off switch to simulate the 2 minute bursts.
On occasion, some BB devices for whatever reason will show NO SIGNS OF LIFE when initially plugged in if they have been completely drained. They need to be plugged in and left along for a while.
Good luck.
