Missing info when adding received contacts

I'm experiencing an issue.

When someone sends me a contact via whatsapp and I try to add it to my contacts the name, address and other information disappears.

The number still remains but I have to key in everything else manually.

It never used to do this until maybe a few months ago.

Anyone else experiencing the same?

Can't say I have, but also don't recall the last time I tried to add a contact that was shared via WhatsApp.

Are you trying to add it to WhatsApp contact list or under your personal list or to some other account
