I definitely got that vibe from the renders, especially since the material at the back resembles the stuff they use on the Leap. But it's probably too early to tell, things might change throughout the development process.

Would be nice if it's a mid tier, I'm just not classy enough for a flagship.

Would buy in a heartbeat, so lucky I didn't buy a Priv.

I kinda prefer this form factor more because all the keys are always present to be used anytime.

Wonder why are there physical nav keys...?

Maybe because they are adding BB10 gestures and don't want the virtual nav bar to be in the way? /speculation

those look press-able, dun think it's virtual.

but then again this is not the final design so we'll see.

    Yeah I know.

I think you misunderstood. I never said it was a BB10 tool belt.

I'm just speculating that android buttons are made because Blackberry is gonna add gestures of BB10 (swipe up to home, basically the whole flow BB10 has) so there won't be virtual buttons android buttons to get in the way.

I believe it's possible, it's just whether if Blackberry wants to do it/if Google allows it.

Seems like it. I get a Q5/curve like vibe from the device with the multiple colour variations and its general look. Hopefully they don't cut the sd card slot like they did on the Q5... the tray on the left side looks like it's big enough for a sim card and a microsd but we'll see. It's definitely not finalized considering they can't decide where the BB logo is going to be placed on the back.

That's how AT&T Passport version look like when you view it in 16:9 screen and try to fit the entire screen...

Not sure how I feel about this one. The physical android buttons are a bit out of place when you've gotten used to BlackBerry having no physical buttons on the front at all. Even the Priv has them virtual. Hoping it's just an early render of the device.

Bringing back BB10 gestures would be pretty awesome, though seeing as though my next device might just be a Priv, I'd hope they'd find a way to implement it there too.

I agree with Concession. The SIM flap, colour variants and keyboard design screams Q5 to me. Let's hope they get the price right if it is a budget line phone.

Passport Silver edition +Q5+ Classic + a hint of Priv = Venice!
If it ships with a SD61X in it then it will be a very solid device!

    3-10-30 -(Milltary Service for 1 1/2yrs)-Priv2..?

You mean..Vienna! ;-) Anyway, I'm interested in that device for sure. Let's put a 4.2" FHD not-curved display, the Passport camera and the internal specs of the priv (minus internal storage: suggesting 16GB but with micro-sd slot) and a 379 USD price tag at launch. Gonna buy it day 1!

BlackBerry has no time to waste with mid-tier devices. I hope the Vienna is high spec'd just in a different form factor.

Fair enough. Curious why not? They'll still be there albeit virtual like the Priv.

Guess what Motorola's best selling smartphone of all time is? Moto X? Guess again - Moto G.

Plus, there are maybe no more than 10 'high end' devices in 2015. This has been the year where technology and price has driven well priced high spec devices to be regarded as mid tier (eg Nexus 6p, Moto X Pure). The mid tier market is the new upper tier.
