Just switched from DTEK60 to KeyOne

    Love the device

Every phone call I have been on this morning, in various parts of my city with good signal, people are saying they cant understand my voice/it is distorted/tinny

    Any others with similar issues?

    Yes, I got this and I don't think it's a specific issue but more a design/software failure.

When you hold the phone between your head and your shoulder like this:

The microphone or noise reduction algorithm seems to go crazy. This really sucks and I find myself repeating sentences from time to time. I can also hear my voice disappearing in the recordings I have. Once you grab the phone as you should in the normal way, everything goes back to normal.

I wish all the threads with the same issues could be combined but understand that is probably a big undertaking. But there are several threads all about the same issues all over.

I also know the search doesn't always find those threads I'd used.

Sound quality is magnificent. Noise reduction works amazingly well. I suppose there are some defective batches or so. Try to get a new unit before giving up, I assure the K1 deserves it

Actually I got the K1 for myself from UnlockedMobiles (UK) and one for my business partner from Amazon (US). Both have the exact same distortion issues when holding the phone between the shoulder and the ear. This is not a defective batch yet a design/algorithm issue. This happens mostly to people with low/deep voices (most noise reduction algorithms are having trouble with low/deep voices).

Also, sound quality is not magnificent yet OK. It is not Passport quality and the loudness (both in loudspeaker and earpiece) is not enough for many people, especially in noisy areas.

Noise reduction in most cases works pretty good (as opposed to most "flagship" LG/Samsungs/iPhones) but definitely not Passport quality.
