It's amazing from a 4s video how many people think this device is the next best thing. If the Priv couldn't sell, it's running Android, and has a physical keyboard, what makes you think this will sell more than the Priv? By all accounts, the DTEK50/60 isn't selling... beside the fanboys, who's buying this?

Hm, Priv was overpriced, none had advertising, BB or not, HOW could any of those devices have sold well? Most people do not go to online forums to keep up with what is being sold in the next month. Without advertising and a competitive price, they are doomed to fail. Hopefully TCL will do things differently now that they take the risks. Then maybe we'll see how the public really feels about it...

I'm confused how people can compare John to Steve? It is not the ceos job to hype up a product or give leaks. As a ceo I think Chen is in the public more than most ceos and would probably say more if they let him. And this is not an endorsement of Chen.

Chen is the one who helped push it to the point where BlackBerry had to partner with someone to make their phones. No credit.

He could've killed the hardware division entirely. BB10 would die a slow death without developer support anyway and we wouldn't have an alternative. He does deserve credits to bring it to this point and credits to TCL for promoting it like that. I hope they continue like that and make it bigger than BlackBerry made their BB10 devices!
