Really don't get how anyone likes the weird hybrid keyboard the Passport has.

    Posted via CB10
Easy access to typical keys with easy flexibility for all the special characters while maximizing screen real estate.

I know the 1:1 limitations, but an Android Passport would be a great phone.

I want a pkb that's ALWAYS there. Needing to slide it out is pretty much the same as having a vkb that needs to be brought on the screen. Also, moving parts = potential failures in the future. No thanks. Lastly, to get it thin enough, they made the keys completely flat, so none of the ridges like on traditional BB keys, which make typing so much easier, especially if you have fat fingers, lol.

Just say no to flat, mushy keys! They can be soft to press but have to be raised / ridged so you can find your way without looking. I'm very hopeful that they realize this after the Priv.

Seriously? We had q5,q10,classic,priv...they don't sell. Period. Sadly, but at this point there is nothing that can save their device line of business, BB10 or android does not matter. They blew their chances so many times in the past...way too many times I'd say. Their device strategy was more like walking in the dark...
    Seriously?
    Q10, q5 - are 3 year old phones with BB10.
Passport, Classic - are two year olds with bb10.
Priv - is the only android with pkb, but it is a slider.

So, how many mercury type form factor androids are there available?

I'm really surprised at the amount of people that want what I do. I always figured I was the odd one who wanted an Android powered pkb blackberry. I love my classic and bb10 but I think it's time to go with the Android os . I might add I'm posting this from my android tablet and HATE the vkb.

Based on what I see on these posts it seems to me like it would be a complete waste of time to line up Argon before the Merc... BlackBerry needs to focus and postpone the Argon until after a hopefully successful Merc. More importantly... and I mean this is fundamental and much more important than designing a successful device... BlackBerry needs to urgently focus on providing an email interface for enterprise IT managers (and end users) that allows access to secured work emails within the Android hub and Hub+, similar to the integrated OS10 hub. The inadequate GFE reaches EOL at the end of this month anyway, hope BlackBerry comes strong with a sustainable cross platform solution that attracts all IT managers.

Yep, I mentioned that in another thread as well. The ridges definitely make a big difference.

Which I consider a good thing. Call me weird but I like the chiclet style better, keys are clickier and more tactile.

I am puzzled by this article. It just doesn't go in line with the mercury rumor at all.

First of all, Classic rocks. Second, there is no way that the next pkb phone has these specs after Chen saying that Priv was too expective. They won't introduce a better specced phone which costs 200$ less than the Priv.

Click bait? In order to make money through ads? I don't know. All I know is, a Passport 2 device would definitely attract my attention!!b

Unlikely that someone would make this up "out of whole cloth," but I give it no more than a 50-50 chance.

DTEK70 or DTEK90. Passport 2 even by name isn't happening.

I am waiting for a PKB android device that is not a slider. I currently have a Z10 and came from a 9930 bold. As good as the Z10 VKB is, I miss the ease of typing on my 9930.

So hoping the PKB phone is real and will come out this year and it is not too big. By Christmas time would be great.

What I meant is, we had tons of pkb in the past and no sale. Now if you think that's gonna work, why don't you sell your house and invest in BB?
