He should release one with similar specs and price to the dtek60. Similar to Q10/Z10 side by side.
Not happening. Because the Mercury will be built by BlackBerry itself it seems. BlackBerry will never be able to price it like the DTEK60 with those kind of specs.
I think they are going to use Mid tier specs to keep the price in check.
Ideal pricing would be $449 (same as the classic)
But even at $499 it won't be that bad since it's going to be the last BlackBerry in house and probably the only new keyboard phone in the market for quite some time, so BlackBerry might want to cash in on that.

Right now I don't care what the price will be, I would like it to come sooner than later.

Chen did not say that Mercury was being manufactured in-house like the Priv was, with BlackBerry taking the risks for all aspects of the project. We only know that Mercury was designed in house, based on Chen saying that he had a prototype keyboard device on his desk.

What we still don't know, even at this late date, is whether or not Chen has managed to find a partner to manufacture it and share the risks associated with sales. The expected first quarter announcement date is not far away now, and we have had nothing more from Chen or BlackBerry, except for a 10.3.3 like promise that a keyboard device is "coming soon".

OMG ... and again ! I think, as long as we know, that another device is coming, we don't need to discuss anymore, who is responsible for the manufacturing. In most cases, these are anyhow some companies somewhere in the world ...

Let us simply wait for other "official" information or the first photo ...

Christmas is just around the corner and I sure hope Mr. Chen gives us all a pleasant surprise and releases Mercury so we can all have ourselves a nice Christmas gift.

I"d go with the priv, but if mercury comes this Christmas, that would be a better choice..

Priv is good too but the price a bit high. I am definitely going to wait for Mercury.

If it is a genuine leak then I think the release is quite near i.e before the year ends. I'd be glad if it does release in 2016 and so will many BlackBerry supporters

I'd say the worst extremes are April and $599, the best extremes are $299 and January. The answer will fall somewhere between there.

Priv wasn't "in-house" , Wistron built it. BlackBerry hasn't had manufacturing for years.

The Priv was an in-house design phone and blackberry just contracted someone else to make it just like all the BB10 devices.

We still don't know whether BlackBerry is assuming all the risks associated with manufacturing the Mercury, as they did with the Priv, or whether they are relying on a partnership deal to share that risk.

I was referring to the Priv specifically. It's designed but not manufactured by BlackBerry.
