I'm very close to moving on to a different calendar (aCalendar) from the provided Blackberry Calendar.

On the BB Calendar, the month information view communicates poorly. The week view is cramped. Agenda view is large and wasting space. No attachments ability.

The good feature is the keyboard shortcuts within the the BB app but aCalendar sort of gets around this by having distinct gestures to change near instantly to different views.

Only thing I don't know is, when you select an entry within BB Hub or Productivity Tab, will it open up the calendar entry in the non-BB calendar app? Not sure if BB apps are specially tied together some how.

Mostly everything BlackBerry assumes you're using everything BlackBerry. Hub and Prod. Tab won't recognize most things if you use something else like Google Calendar.

Good news. I've disabled BB Calendar (not uninstalled); HUB and Prod Tab are reading and selecting events properly for aCalendar. Not sure what will happen if I uninstall.

I've been using Pocket Informant, now called just Informant, for years and years, all the way back to my Palm Pilot days. It is free and has beautiful customizable widgets , copy and paste for events or tasks, fully integrates with Google calendars and tasks.

FYI, I did uninstall the BB Calendar and now my Productivity tab opens events right into Informant!

I just uninstalled the BB Calendar and my Productivity Tab opens events in my chosen Informant calendar

I have a bug which sometimes affects my bb calendar.

It shows the correct date on the homescreen icon but sometimes when I go into the calendar it is highlighting the day before. For example today is thursday 6th but the calendar will highlight Wednesday 5th. Restarting the device will always fix it.

    Any ideas what's causing this?

^^^^^Similar sort of issue with Productivity Tab; it will not update on its own properly.

What a about meeting invitations arriving in the hub? Can they still be accepted?

In short, no. Now, Prod Tab does not open or do any reaction when tapping on a meeting. Tapping on the meeting within BB HUB demands permission from BB Calendar (I have it disabled atm). Free version of aCalendar does not appear to accept meetings well at all; unsure about the paid version?

Main is BlackBerry Cal but use aCalendar for those things not working and try to push BlackBerry where I can to get the aCal features implemented.

I have found out what triggers my calendar bug.......sometimes.

It seems to happen when installing or uninstalling an app.

A quick refresh of my apps with the square capacitive button cures this temporary bug.

Doesn't always happen but there is something of a pattern.
