Probably a dumb question - but do I need to use the BB Hub in order to get any LED notifications?

I have searched the threads and can't seem to find a clear answer. I do know that there are some apps that have settings to fine-tune the colour etc.

I am assuming I have to use hub to get the LED notifications cause I have it disabled and don't seem to be able to get any. For example, I prefer Nine for my email and even though there are settings for the LED in it - I am getting nothing.

    Appreciate any help.

Nah, LED should work fine without Hub. Not sure why it wouldn't be working with Nine.

Works fine without it, Android has native support for notification lights and other phones use them too, like some Sony and Huawei models.

I must have turned something off in the settings - I reset the phone and its handling my gmail account with the LED fine. I think I shut something off when playing around and couldn't find it.

    Thanks for the help.
