Which app are you trying to use for video calling?

WhatsApp, Signal, Skype, Facebook Messenger, BBM Enterprise, Duo, Viber, or any number of others?

On my keyone it came with the BlackBerry app. Are there others? WhatsApp is strictly internet right?

BBM came with the KEYᵒⁿᵉ, but it was shut down over a year ago.

Some have downloaded BBM Enterprise as a replacement.

I listed many others. WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger are by far the most popular.

What do you mean by "strictly internet" ? All video apps use data.

Do you mean the video call button that appears in the pre-installed phone call app next to a recent call or on the call screen?

I read that you have to be on the internet to make a video call.

Go to device settings, Network and Internet, Cellular networks, IMS settings. Check the LTE video calling toggle.
Note that this will use a lot of data fast, if you don't have unlimited carrier data then you may well want to try some other app such as WhatsApp which can also utilize Wi-Fi.

I just checked my IMS and it says 'not connected'. So I have to call my provider and have this fixed.

Just use an app like everyone else. You can use something like Signal for encrypted messaging, encrypted voice and video calls, and standard SMS.

what happens feature-rich and quite widely available to video chat to other people. Duo is most often higher-quality both video and sound in my experience.
