KeyOne Vibrating/Pressing Back Button on its Own from Lock
Dear everyone,
After working well for over a year and a half, I am now having the frustrating problem that my KeyOne is experiencing a pretty major malfunction.
Whenever I unlock my KeyOne, the blackberry vibrates continuously as if the touch screen is being touched. Then if I say, go to Google Chrome or to my camera, it immediately shows signs of the back button being pressed, such as going to previous pages on Chrome.
After doing this for a few seconds, the touch screen simply stops working until I turn off the screen and turn it back on again, sometimes two or three times.
This problem started two weeks ago, stopped for over a week and a half, but in the last three days has become constant.
This is basically making it impossible to properly use my phone.
I have tried holding down the power and restarting it three times to drain the battery of any charge. This initially showed some promise to work, but it now does not.
How might I get this repaired? I tried calling BB tech support and they told me that the KeyOne no longer is serviced by BB.
Would getting a new touch screen fix this? Has anyone else had a similar problem?
New BB KeyOnes or Key2s are stupidly expensive now because they are no longer being made, and frankly having a phone for 1.5 years is not sufficient for me. This is doubly so as the blackberry is the only phone on the market with a hardware keyboard. I despise touch screen keyboards.
Unrelated, I have also noticed the space bar has become very unresponsive, though that is less of an issue. Might it somehow be related given that the space bar serves other purposes?
Does anyone know of any places in the New York area that might do a good job fixing my phone if I have to get it repaired? I am definitely not savvy enough to replace the touch screen by myself.
Thanks for your help.
