No daily restarts needed. Memory is supposed to be full for caching reasons and it absolutely makes sense.
Let me get this straight. It is a great phone phone over all. But not for speed reasons in terms of Android implementation. If they optimize it a bit more all is good.

OK I see a big difference with Nova Launcher. 8 apps and no redraws so far. Will report back tomorrow.
For $200 more, I think one would expect that. K1 is a midrange phone and those really aren't apples to apples comparisons. K1 is going to sell for the pkb for the most part anyway, IMO.
Isn't the K1 itself priced at $150 more than other phone with similar midrange specs?
I'm sure there will be plenty of updates forthcoming from BlackBerry over the coming months, to address optimizations. It's still very early, and the phone is barely even released.
Update since I started this thread: not ONE lag experience EVER. Use to have 3-5 battery hot etc etc on Priv daily. KEYone is amazing! Battery is also insane. It never dies. All day long and still at 70%. Loving this thing!

And do you need a RAM manager or reboot the phone regularly?
Someone need to confirm this but I heard that the KeyOne will one have one version across the world... will work CDMA and GSM
I wish/hope that is the case, but I've heard differently. I got money in the bank just sitting there. Would order a KeyOne this second if I have confirmation that it would work on ST.
Yes , but nobody else has a capacitive keyboard that is an incredible tool. If one buys a phone simply for specs, there are plenty of options.
So for you the pkb alone make it worth $150 more

Yes, I mean K1 isn't competing with pixel or S8. But as midrange phone, its priced overly that almost reach flagship's teritory. So no wonder if people comparing the performance with flagship phone.

Huh... according to GSM arena it isn't a world phone

No. I don't take into account any type of comparison with any other phones, specs or cost. I'm a BlackBerryaholic. I've only ever owned BlackBerry's, I buy every one that comes out, and I'll be getting this one.
So my opinions are completely biased and one sided.

I think yes. Probably 10 $ more for materials, but the usefulness can't be estimated like this.
I've rebooted maybe once when there was an update and I've never cleared cache or even heard of a Ram Manager. The phone is fast.
This idea that just because the 625 isn't super new it's inferior is just silly. The OS, battery, and BlackBerry software kick butt...
I think people rebooting constantly and using RAM manager apps are actually the ones causing the slowdowns. They are forcing the OS to reload every app constantly, including maybe some important apps like the Hub.
I have never rebooted a device except back in the BBOS days

Yeah it must be because I'm a hardcore, all-day user, and I've NEVER used a phone that can keep up with my in performance and battery life like this device.
The $549 tag is a bargain to say the least. The battery KILLS the S8.
If you want a phone to game on, then get your toy Android / iPhone but this thing is a productivity machine people!
