It's very similar to carriers like Verizon. ~$11/month.

    (11 * 24) + 149.99 = 265.48

So is all insurance a waste in your opinion? It has saved me a few times.

    What does Amazon offer?

Not all insurances. But this particular one I named for the K1 is.

Why this one in particular? I am just trying to understand. Complete coverage is 10.99 for every conceivable issue or problem. Verizon's is the same.

That coverage price is per month plus 149.99 fee.

Yes, they are both monthly. The 149.99 is the deductable which is also similar to most cell phone carriers. So I am not sure why it is so much worse than anyone else.

Back on topic with regards to screen lifting, I said:

Geek Squad Protection is a waste of money. The fees will add up to more than the K1 will be priced in 2 years.
Buying extra warranty with the added cost to replace the phone to cover screen lifting is a waste of money. This is only with regards to protecting yourself in the event of your screen lifting.

You already have the manufacturer's warranty to cover the screen lift. Why come out of pocket for $265.48 just to protect against everything else? You'll be able to buy a secondhand KEYone at that price.

Well, if we are talking about buying it just because of the screen lift, then yes it is probably too much given the warranty.

The Best Buy Geek protection warranty cost me a one time payment of 149.99 (2 YR $500-599.99 UNLOCKED GSP) The screen lift issue I believe will only be covered for one year by Blackberry Mobile so this protects against that further. I also purchased this to protect against water damage as I constantly have my phone with me as I am working outside or at the beach.

I also wanted to share this correspondence with Blackberry Mobile

    Hello Kevin,

Thank you for letting me know. I am sure this will not happen again since that issue is only present with the first devices sold and they have all been sold already. The newer devices no longer have this problem.

In the meantime do you have any other questions?

If not, can I close your case?

    Best regards

    Jeffrey Jardon

After not receiving your first email I contacted Amazon about the screen lifting. They were able to make a exception on the 30 day return policy and have refunded me my money. I have since purchased another KeyONE from Bestbuy and should be receiving that one tomorrow.

I hope the screen lift issue will not reoccur as I really like the phone overall.

I received my new phone yesterday and I am just getting around to setting it up today. There was no sticker on the box or phone that would indicate a build date. In the Settings -->About phone-->>Build Number--> I have the same build number AALL964 as my original KeyONE. Does anyone know if there is another way to determine the build date? I sure hope that this was not old BB stock as I know in reality there is no way that the support specialist I quoted in my last post would know for certain that the old stock was sold thru at BestBuy.

I'm convinced TCL doesn't tag these phones as an attempt to escape responsibility. Seems consistent with their approach thus far.

Probably the only way to tell is compare serial numbers which are presumably sequential. If your new SN is much higher than the original then it's more likely a newer production run

Am i the only person worried about returning a phone to SE Asia that contains all my personal data because with the screen off the phone is unusable and can't be wiped?

I was wondering about that and hadn't seen it brought up yet--a phone return in which you can't remove your data first.

    well said.
My screen fell out after 2 months. The ribbon has a tiny tear, rendering my KEYone useless.

Maybe use Google "Find My Phone" and send it a "wipe" command from that app or web portal??

Does a Google Wipe also delete imported/transferred Blackberry contacts & files? Not sure if it erases everything.
