Nope. I love the keyboard experience but their lack of consistent security updates is pushing me away to a Pixel every day.

At the end of the day, it depends if you care more about getting updates the same day they're released or having the PKB and all that it offers.

I get the frustration of not getting the timely updates especially when promised.
But the frustration of typing on glass is SO MUCH WORSE. At least for me.

That depends on which PRD you have. My PRD hasn't been updated since May. I was able to join the 8.1 beta which was great because it fixed the broken 5G wifi issue, but it then broke my Google Pay after the update. And now that the beta is over, I'm stuck on the broken September update, and as such, I'm back to waiting for BlackBerry to update my PRD.

So it's not that I want the update the same day. But waiting 6 months for an update is not acceptable.

Coming from the Passport it has taken me quite a long time to accept the size of the Keyone and thought Io would be much happier on the 20% increase offered by the KEY2, so I waited. Unfortunately am underwhelmed by the touch and feel of the keyboard on the KEY2 and the sensitivity / responsiveness.

I sold my KEY2 and got a Keyone because of the keyboard.

Upgraded a couple of weeks ago from a KEYᵒⁿᵉ SE to a KEY² SE. I've been very happy with the upgrade though I never had problems with my KEYᵒⁿᵉ.

Keeping the KEYᵒⁿᵉ as a security blanket backup.

Actually feels narrower, and they keys are matte, but flat, and non-raised. No defining edges. Keyone has a better feel, I think.

This is part of it yes. The keys have a satisfying feel when pressed where the KEY2, not so much. I like how the space bar on the Keyone has the same feel as the rest of the keys, Where as the KEY2 has a completely different feel and less substantial.

I also find the touch sensitivity on the Keyone to be near the same as the Passport which is the way it was meant to be.

Did not feel comfortable seeing light peaking out between, from under the keys on the KEY2. If I had the phone in my pocket and there was lint, dust, grime or whatever, I would be concerned that particles would get in and accumulate under the keys.

I don't think this is a BlackBerry staple keyboard in my humble opinion

True opinions do vary although I have heard from others who agree with me that the responsiveness of swipe gestures on the KEY2 is poor. I had to for example swipe to the left twice every time I wanted to erase a word or two or three times to swipe up a word. I tried this on two different KEY2 devices.
The Keyone has a much more responsive touch experience.

If you like the PRIV keyboard then you may love the KEY2 keyboard. I personally played with the PRIV then put it down and walked away never to even look or consider it again.

Yes like I said the Keyone keyboard is tighter then I would prefer but the satisfaction of the press on each key is what is so much more satisfying.

I owned an OG early this year which I tried to use as a daily but didn't last 2 days and sold it off after, but I actually typed that last post on a PPSE which I just got for really cheap, just cause I really like the KEY2 design and was curious to try out the phone that they based its design on.

I don't considered the performance of the hardware running Android apps relevant on the Passport, understanding that support ended for the android runtime long ago.

As far as the Keyone and the KEY2 my experience has been a complete 180*.
My KEYone is spot on and have no issues with scrolling or sensitivity.

One of the big reasons I sold my KEY2 is due to the poor sensitivity when swiping.

It is possible I suppose that there are build batches that perform differently than others. I am going to try to go to a BlackBerry event in Windsor next month and they will have several KEY2's on hand so I hope to test them and see if this is the case.

I've made the decision to switch to the Razer Phone 2. It has way better specs, wireless charging, and Oreo. BBMo's Android Security hasn't impressed me enough to put up with the lack of support and delays in updates. I'm tired of dealing with the Verizon guessing game (will they / won't they ?). The ²LE doesn't even sport a capacitive keyboard, which I would miss if I bought one.

The Razor 2 doesn't even sport any keyboard, which I would terribly miss if I bought one (or any other touchscreen).

Granted, the Razor is a bit less boring than the other slabs, but still no keyboard, so I won't even consider it. I do believe that it's also a specialist/niche device just like the KEY phones.

Interesting. I hate the feel of the KEY1 keys. They stick, they don't stay in place, they seem to get loose every time. And I even had my keyboard replaced a few weeks ago! I am really hoping they at least make it less sticky. I hate that feeling. Ugh.

It really is hard to determine what is true and just another's perspective which could be defined by their history of experience with specific devices. The only way to know if you will like it is to get one at a good price like I did and see if it works for you. Selling it should not be an issue if you are the original owner and have a receipt with it. That's what I recommend
