Then don't buy it! I hear that the new Snap 967 coming out soon is waterproof, comes with shades and is 100% organic.

When their market share what it is and the aspect of a turn around and pivot in effect, it wouldn't have made sense to have three or four phones out at the same time.

It's not the same as Apple that can release a tall slab, a small slab, and a smaller slab all at the same time and have them all be successful or eat the loss if one doesn't do so good.

BlackBerry needs/needed to get everything right.

I won't argue with your assessment. It would not have been a easy call to go the route I suggested. The problem is the portion of the market that wanted this layout has had to wait almost 2 years...

The other thing I noticed is that on the day of the launch of a new Apple phone/device, they put a big notice on the front page of their website to drum up excitement, and the device info and ordering availability is there immediately. I just checked both ShopBlackBerry and blackberry.com and I see nothing about the KEYOne.

Not about being cheap, but being sensible about your money. But judging by how you're "used to buying iPhones" I don't expect you to understand this.

This type of attitude was what killed BlackBerry devices in the first place.

    • No app support? I don't need stinkin' apps, my phone is a tool, not a toy!
    • Popular messengers not supporting us? Use BBM!

    Sound familiar?

Shopblackberry is clearing inventory. You may have noticed...not a passport to be found. They are no longer in the hardware business

    Try here http://blackberrymobile.com
Whoa....you're right. They cleared out the Passports already......

Thanks for that! I did know about it however I think if the general public were to just go to blackberry.com and there's no big in-your-face message to go to the new website it might be missed. Anyway thanks for reminding me.
I agree. I wouldn't have known about the new website if I hadn't watched the live feed, which stopped completely about 25 min. in after them being 22 min. late. Someone definitely needs to study Apple keynotes.

The KEYone is on the main BlackBerry website under Smartphones. It includes a link to "Get Details at BlackBerryMobile.com."

Hmm.. I can buy two ZTE Blade V8 Pro $230 per device. (Same spec as Keyone without PKB) and still have $90 left on my pocket.

If BlackBerry management team are monitoring this forum, they are probably saying to themselves what have we done.
Hmmm... if they really did that after the last mid range PKB device, most of us would have been owning a PRIV with price adjustments and BB could have their big wave of earnings ever since the Z10...

Good comparison and nobody really needs more then that on their phone unless you're downloading massive media files all day long.

You're right, in fact nobody needs most things we have in phones.

In fact by your logic we should just go back to 32mb RAM, 30mb ROM phones with 2inch displays, get in them EDGE speeds, after all, it's just texting and email for most, yeah?

How high-end was the Passport Soc when it was introduced?
Pretty high end actually. The Snapdragon 800 was still a go to SoC for most OEMs at the time for their top end phones. The Passport was actually truly competitive hardware wise, high end phones were using either a Snapdragon 800 or 801, much like how they are using a 820 or 821 right now.

ULTRA specs? huh....pricing for ultra specs is like $800 like samsung S8, LG V20, etc. This is price far less. You are just complaining to complain.
How much is a OnePlus 3 with Snapdragon 820 and 6GB RAM again!? Or a ZTE Axon 7 with similar specs to the OnePlus?

    Thought so.

Sorry, of course it is 8!
If you know anything else about 625 (600 series is a 8 core) please let me know.
    Cheers!
The 625 uses 8 A53 Cores, these are low power cores. Most other 8 core SoCs e.g. Exynos 8890 in the S7 use 4 A53 cores for low power tasks and then have another 4 far more powerful cores in the case of Exynos is the Samsung M1 Mongoose core that is comparable to the ARM A73 cores found in other powerful 8core CPUs.

A53 cores go back to the days of the Samsung's Galaxy Note 4, in 2014 with the Exynos 5433 SoC.

The A53 cores are great for Battery Life, most of us can actually set our phones to power save and just use A53 cores and lower power of the higher cores, and basically have a KEYone type experience less the keyboard of course.

It will never launch in India buddy. Expect something below ₹20,000 and a all touch devices only.
