So I looked at the CFW website to see if there were listing any of the important information about what model KEYone they are actually selling. All they show is QUAD BAND and Works in US=Yes.

Am I missing something? Does this make it an AT&T/TMO phone for us use? Will there be other models? I'm not going to buy from CFW, but I'm guessing some in US probably will.

Just trying to understand what model this is

    Thanks,

I wonder European model has different bands.
GSMArena lists the bands as follows: would it be possible that one model phone could cover the entire world? Maybe so.

Technology GSM / HSPA / LTE
    2G bands GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
    3G bands HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1700(AWS) / 1900 / 2100

    LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 12(700), 13(700), 20(800), 25(1900), 26(850), 28(700), 29(700), 30(2300), 41(2500) - US v2
    LTE band 1(2100), 2(1900), 3(1800), 4(1700/2100), 5(850), 7(2600), 8(900), 12(700), 13(700), 17(700), 19(800), 20(800), 28(700), 29(700), 30(2300), 38(2600), 39(1900), 40(2300), 41(2500) - Canada, LATAM, APAC, US v1

Still a little confusing. Nice to see all those bands, but is that in one physical device or multiple? Didn't the Priv had 2 different SKU's based on where it was sold/used. Isn't that typical of phones?

Crap, I was totally blown away when I saw a guy at AT&T take a Verizon iPhone and put it on their network. Thought Verizon phones were CDMA, but I guess it had LTE bands on it? But wouldn't' that be limiting when LTE wasn't available in certain areas?
Still don't have a good understanding of the whole thing. Really don't care to either. Just want to know if KEYone will be multiple devices and why CFW isn't being specific if it's really only usable in Europe.

There are 3 versions of the KEYone:
BBB100-1 GSM for Canada, US, etc.
BBB100-2 GSM for Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA)
BBB100-3 CDMA for USA (Verizon & Sprint)

That's it!!! I new there would be multiple SKU's on this device. So CFW gives no indication of what SKU this phone actually is, but i'm assuming it's the -2 variant for European use. Also, no indication of this device on their main website page, you have to search for it. Not getting that BB love that it deserves.

There were three Passport models as documented by Raino:
    SQW100-1, SQW100-2, SQW100-3, all GSM versions.

SQW100-1: has the most bands and is what people get when they bought a Passport 99% of the time.
SQW100-2: CDMA, for Verizon, never came out.
SQW100-3: AT&T Passport, loses bands and gains wireless charging.
SQW100-4: Silver Passport, otherwise the same as the SQW100-1.

Since CarFone Warehouse is a UK store I don't see why they'd see the need to clarify? It's not like they're amazon.

That's right because less information is always better. Ambiguity rules the day.

Only a minority of us have any interest in international capability. The information (ie the SKU) should be available somewhere, but not necessarily on the price sticker.

"Hey, this product you're buying from a British shop in Britain is suitable for use in Britain!". Etc.

Does a UK car dealer have to specify that the cars he's getting on April 27 are right hand drive?

Or can he just say he's getting a bunch of a popular model on April 27, and leave it at that?

Exactly what communication do you want from a country-specific sales outlet, mmmmm?

"We're getting a phone to sell on April 27. The next 45 pages list exactly what phone systems are in each country in the world, complete with detailed explanations of how our phone does or does not work in those countries."

    ???

Honestly for me, CFW looks better than CPW. I know phone starts with a p, but the acronym CPW makes me think of "Car Pone Warehouse" lol. But yes, CPW is the more accurate acronym for Carphone Warehouse.
I swear it's Car Phone, but the W keeps cutting off the P

Yes - or when the Verizon LTE bands on the phone, didn't match the AT&T LTE bands in that particular location.
