Saw it a few days ago but only took pictures of it today. I assume there are more (well there better be) but it's the only ad I've seen in NYC so far.
The poster is on both sides of the Wall Street 4/5 train stop.

Yeah, there's more around.

Very cool...Looks like AT&T at work...
But they don't even show the phone, so what's the point?
i feel you.
i hate how people have this stigma for blackberries. BLACKBERRY WAS the smart phone of the day and is still around. it was blackberry and palm. where is palm now? they got bought out and disappeared. Never had any phone as long as i've had any
one blackberry. had my bold for 2 years before i chose to go to the q10. bought a v20 in nov. replaced it with an iphone in march. and now im SOOOOOO happy to be back on balckberry with the keyone.
people sleep on BlackBerry so much. I always have people go "is that a BlackBerry?" and I'm like ya why, and they're like they're ****! I'm like let me guess, you were one of those people that had one in the past when BlackBerry was super hot and it didn't work properly because you treated it like garbage.. and they're like ya... I'm like don't sleep on the new ones, they're great imo... everyone is living in the past
Very cool to see these ads. Agree, people are sleeping on BlackBerry. My K1 is one very useful phone for productivity. I can't compare it to anything else, except another BB.
For MOST there was no "past" with BlackBerry.... at their height they only had 80 million users - maybe over time they touched three times that. That means very, very few of today's 2 Billion+ smartphone users have any experience with BlackBerry.... other than maybe being told that "you don't want one of those" by a carrier sales rep years ago - and he was right.
Many here don't "GET" that if you stop coming to CrackBerry and you clear your browser history and cookies. You might not ever here about BlackBerry again.
Which is why simple poster like this does help to get the name out there and being placed at a Wall Street station, is targeting those that have a higher chance of being past users.
But I do agree... show the phone!
Nice find. I remember when they did some ad for BB10 in Frankfurt....
CB10 on my Classic
Honestly, I don't really care if they advertise or not. One one hand I would like them to advertise to keep the brand going. On the other hand, the brand has kept going without a lot of advertisement. Long story short, I got my blackberry device and plan on getting one in the future.
Everything else is for the birds.
I feel like they are showcasing the people that are using the device. A lot of people can related to them while some can't. I don't mind them not showing the phone but I would like to see a full shot of the front of the phone clearly showcasing that it's running Android. Whether that is them showing the device running Instagram or snapchat or however they decide to do it I think that is the most important aspect of the new device.
So many people see my KEYᵒⁿᵉ and either think BlackBerry has been out of business or have no idea they have moved to the android OS. BlackBerry needs to blast this device's form factor and Android OS so the general public had somewhat of an idea of what's going on with the company.
I second this. I would like to go to an At&t store one day and see a picture of the front of the Keyone on the front glass. I will be on the lookout to see if there is any advertisement at the At&t store when the Keyone drops.
This is my general feeling too. There needs to be a big Android or Google Play Store logo next to a picture of the phone somewhere on the ad.
What da!! Phone pic is small and not clear just at the back AND the BlackBerry name is not bold enough!
i was so happy to get my keyone. I posted pictures of it on social media. Hung out with a buddy and they were like, you got a new phone WHY? (which translates to eww why you get a blackberry)
But had i switched form my iphone 7plus to an iphone 8 or galaxy s8 or sh!t a note 8.. They would've been more like ooo cool let me see your new phone.
The only person that got excited over my bb was my uncle who had the passport, and he's really in Nokia another company that gets the same reaction as the blackberry.
I love my BB! i dont regret trading in my iphone for it.
IMAGINE THE KEYONE WITH A STYLUS! OMG! THATS THE ONLY WAY IT COULD GET ANY BETTER. LOL
I wonder if it's smart to not show the keyboard at all.
Yes it says KEYOne and KEYboard, but there are still tons of people out there who believe BB is dead, and that there is no more keyboard phone. Although they would want one. I think the keyboard would work well as an eye catcher.
TCL did announce that they are releasing a PALM device in the future.... so a keyboard paired with a stylus might be a real possibility at some point.
Today i was scanning some packages for Amazon flex. we're supposed to scan this "check in" qr code from a tablet the warehouse attendants have. The sun glare wouldnt allow me to, so the attendant took my phone further into the warehouse to scan. He came back and asked "is that a Blackberry?" PROUDLY i said yup! he said cool i used to have them. im like yea i LOVE my Blackberry, traded in my iphone 7 plus for it and no regrets. he's like thats cool but what about apps. i explained that its running android. anything he an get on any other android phone i can get on mine. Blackberry just makes the phone but its all android /google inside. im getting the best of both worlds. He was was genuinely surprised.
Thats what the ADS should show blackberry running android.
