I am back to a new passport after using the priv for some weeks and very intrested in the Mercury but too me the distance between the upper keys and the touchscreen seems very close to me. With the passport there is some more space.

I wonder if this is an issue for typing and maybe Bla1ze or Kevin can say something about this?

You don't have any other choice. Either type with elite precision or use a voice to text app!

I dont see this as a problem on my q10. The keys are raised compared to the screen.

I agree, the touchscreen distance was not an issue for the Q10, so doubt it'll be an issue here.

Are those nav keys capacitive on the Mercury or do you press down like the classic.

Could you accidentally set off the nav keys by a slight graze? They've probably thought about that in software when interacting with key presses, swipes.

I know it isn't really the same but I remember installing the BlackBerry virtual keyboard onto my xperia compact and I accidentally set off the virtual nav as it was directly underneath. Instead of pressing space I exited out of the app, oops! Never an issue with the z10 nor the classic.

Good too know that the Q10 also has no Problems for typing. I have big dumbs I maybe will get the Mercury or buy a new Passport someday. Battery of my Passport has lesser power these days, but still good enough for a days work..

Flick typing sucks anyway. I'm much faster typing entire words out. I find myself taking that extra second to pick between 3 words, then typing the next letter because my word isn't one of the 3 choices and scanning again.

I do like that the keyboard let's you scroll and move the cursor around. Flick typing just doesn't do it for me.
