I assume it's the Indian variant?

You can't do anything about it, as that feature is now required by law in India.

Wow, I'd be calling 911 all day long - that's my camera button!

Not on the Indian variant it isn't. Double tap is disabled.

Wow, having just bought a BBB100-7 myself, I didn't think this would be a problem but it is!
If I double tap the button, the phone just locks, and if I triple tap, it dials an emergency number "112" (is that the 911 of India lol ?)

Maybe button remapper can take care of that?

I believe remapping is blocked at OEM level due to intended market laws..

112 is the centralized emergency number in the EU as well... I wonder what it does in North America...

In North America (or at least in the state of Indiana) it calls 911. I've done this once so far on my BBB100-7

I believe he was saying the dialing of 112 gets redirected to 911. - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/112_(e...ephone_number)

112 is often available alongside other numbers traditionally used in the given country to access emergency services. In some countries, calls to 112 are not connected directly but forwarded by the GSM network to local emergency numbers (e.g., 911 in North America or 000 in Australia).

On KEYᵒⁿᵉ BBB100-1 in NJ it calls 911 when dialed but triple press on the power button just makes the screen go dark (same as home screen double-tap)...
