My 2 year plan on my Keyone expired today (Bell). The plan I had was $60 a month with 2.5G of data. To upgrade to the KeyTwo on a 2 year plan would have cost me $90 a month and would only give me 3G of data.

Instead I changed my plan to a BYOD Unlimted data plan for $65 a month. It throttles down at 10G but would still be usable...

Isn't it like 256KB/s though? I dunno if that's usable. From my experience, apps these days choke out even on 3G. That said, I haven't had a contract since the Z30.

Well an extra 7.5gb throttled for $5 a month made sense to me. Meanwhile when CBK offers me a KeyTwo for me to repair and keep then I'll be way ahead ;-).

Actually I only use data when I'm at work so 10gb is plenty to watch the occasional pork.

Yeah, I mean the fuss about being throttled is pretty meh unless you're actually planning on going over the limit often. If you're well within those bounds, moving just makes sense.

Well I'm at work 8 hours a day and I am currently sitting doing nothing for 7 hours a day! Lol. 10gb will be nice to have playing PBA Bowling! Hahahahhaha

Fun fact: Throttling in Germany usually means 64 kb/sec or even less. Now that is unusable! Although sometimes I wonder, why even opening simple small pages then completely fails (instead of simply loading veeeery slowly). Back in the old days with analogue modems on the PC pages at least opened after waiting for an eternity.

I left Bell years ago and went to PC Mobile, $55 a month and 3GB data. Mind you, you'll have to bring your own device as I don't think they have any BlackBerry handsets.

It's going to be hard to keep the K1 for two more years especially when it seems like they're EOLing it after barely two years.

If it's working and meeting his needs, why would it be hard?

Tell that to the folks still using a Bold 9900.

The thing to remember is that an EOL device works exactly the same as it did when it was supported until the external environment changes substantially.

The KEYone runs Oreo, so 99.99% of Android apps will compatible for at least two more years.

Still using my Z10 at the bedside to listen to podcasts and such. My Passport is always great at the bar, who needs to plug the Jukebox when you have those amazing speakers!

Yes BB10 is well beyond any updates and has been for years but there are still ways to use it.
