Hi, pleasantly surprised to receive the Android 8.1.0 update and July security patch just a few minutes ago. The date received is 8.8.2018 (which in Chinese numerology is very lucky). Guess this was timed/ released with that special date intentionally. Looks and runs smooth. My K1 is black edition with 4GB Ram and 64GB storage. Like having a new phone Build no ABD174 (after update) My K1 model is BBB100-4 (for information).

This is NOT Beta version. I never signed up for it. I believe it's the official release for my version of K1 BBB100-4.

It will probably take a week or two to roll out to everyone.

I know that I should know better, however, I’ll still ask. Is Oreo for the AT&T carrier locked version around the corner or way down below the horizon?

Do you think it's possible to make an autoloader from the official ABD174 for everyone?

Not a veil. That’s Death Star cloaking shield... I’ll just wait for the next AT&T BBMo hardware... Oreos are only good dunked in milk anyways....

Not possible. This is a China build only.

Personally, I would wait for your proper OTA update when going to Oreo.

To me, by far, the best story with the update is memory and cache management. It's no longer necessary to clear the cache, even on the silver edition.

VoLTE is now on notifications (like)

    Wi-Fi calling (never used)

App icon, some have changed to circles (looks ok, but all should have consistent round shape).

Location of "Clear All" in recent apps has changed to the top. (I prefer the bottom).

Location of "settings cog" from quick pull down notifications has changed. (need to get use to).

Some icons in phone settings have changed.

Silent mode icon is different in notification panel.

    Some apps seem better optimised.

Google Keep app photos and text better scaled. Don't know if due to Oreo update or Google Keep update?

Convenience Key options for Normal, Car, Meeting, Home mode seem good.

New Night More setting. Can adjust the key backlight and degree of yellow light at set times. This would be useful.

Probably more, just need a bit of playing around to find out.

It's not for the carrier locked version. They have to wait for Blackberry's version then add their own AT&T layer on top of it. So probably a little bit longer

Giving it back to the shop because you haven't gotten the Oreo OS update is childish. If you needed instantaneous OS updates then you should have bought a Pixel phone

sorry no it is not at all childish. It is called customer Service. they promise actual Updates and we Do Not get those. i use bb for years and it has only a Chance legt. key2 has Oreo so it should be no Problem for K1 but they Do Not care for customer. high end price means high end Service. if they can not deliver final Updates, Release beta Updates and take the preassure down, i am sick of waiting. sorry.
