That would be the same issue for everyone buying from Amazon/Selfridge and use in another country. People accepts risks if it's worth.

I would do the same, buying the black KeyOne from India and use in another country. Hopefully there is no screen lift issue with this model.

In India every phone is a factory unlocked. there is no concept of buying from carriers. I am not sure about how BlackBerry handles the updates for KeyOne.

Might be "factory" unlocked... but once Optimums starts building their own, it's a different "factory". And while TCL did make the first batch, I'd not count on them being the ones to provide the updates. Time will tell if Optimums is more like TCL or more like BB Merah Putih.

Between lack of warranty (big deal for current KEYone owners) and the question about updates, would be best to see how things go

then, will it be easy and straight forward to purchase blackberry KEYᵒⁿᵉ from Amazon India and make it to deliver to USA by paying international shipping?

my third KEYᵒⁿᵉ has its screen lifted, and amazon(us) said they will replace or refund the device whenever I want it. (the device was not available in the Amazon as 'sold by amazon' anymore when I called in few days ago.

now I'm torn whether I better go for the the new batch replacement or just get the refund to buy the black edition blackberry from different factory. I also like all the changes they made.(color, more ram dual Sim... etc)

GSMArena.com shows it to not have band 12, which is a no go for T-Mobile in the USA. If we can get a verification of this when they come out would be appreciated.

Yeah, and no QWERTZ. I don't understand why DUAL SIM should be only a thing of India. I think there were also costumers in Europe! Especially in Switzerland :-( THE roaming high level country out of EU.

** In India, the SAR limit for mobile devices used by the public is 1.0W/kg averaged over 10
g of tissue for the body or head (4.0W/kg averaged over 10 g of tissue for the extremities
    - hands, wrists, ankles, and feet). Studies suggest that the standard incorporates a
substantial margin of safety to give additional protection for the public and to account for
    any variations in measurements.

Both of them have Band 12 listed (so GSMArena is wrong as usual), but the blackberrymobile.in one mentions dual-SIM, 4GB RAM and 64GB storage instead of single-SIM, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

I have been on the phone with Amazon India and they say you can set up an account just like in the US. I have done so and verified my US address. I plan on attempting to purchase the device through Amazon India on August 8th and have it shipped to the US. I will update everyone.

Oh really? Shoot, I just called amazon to ask for the replacement about one hour ago since someone in this post replied back that amazon India did not ship outside of India. Wtf?

Now I can not even find that post anymore! Sigh.. I'm kinda screwed.

I guess I will just wait for your experience and how it goes for now. I might just have to sell the new replacement unit that I will receive as 'brand new/ unopened' to get the most money out of it.
