Take it with a grain of salt. This article has some issues. It says that the KeyOne was made available "a few weeks back" in the US and Canada and that TCL "designed" the KeyOne after launching the "rebranded" DTEKs. They also claim that this improved K1 will be made in India and sold by OI due to the license they hold for India.
Actually I also read them mentioning a square screen.....Since when did a KEYone have a square screen?

They didn't really provide much info about the actual release of the 'original' KeyOne, so this may just sneak in.

This sounds almost too good to be true. And if it is true I wonder about production quality. We all know Blackberrys have suffered from uneven production issues (i.e. Priv, Passport). TCL at least is a fairly experienced manufacturer, but I wonder if a tiny company like Optiemus can pull this off.

Plus the intention is the phones will be made in India so I would expect OEL to make them:

The government's 'Make in India' initiative seems to be bearing fruit. A joint venture between Delhi-based Optiemus Infracom and the $20 billion Taiwanese maker Wistron Corp has emerged as the single-largest contract manufacturer for smartphones in India and has bagged exclusive contracts from Korea's LG, China's OnePlus and Taiwan's HTC. Apart from this, JV - Optiemus Electronics Ltd (OEL) - is also manufacturing devices for Chinese major Oppo. OEL was formed last year and the Indian promoter Ashok Gupta holds 80% equity in the company. It comes at a time when Foxconn, the world's largest contract manufacturer, is charting out an aggressive expansion strategy for India, looking to pump in billions of dollars.

Ah I do know Wistron. They are pretty experienced. Still, I remain fairly skeptical. Let's see. If they planning a mid-June launch they should be announcing something soon. You can already get an imported KeyOne but going to wait to see what the plan is for India.

My bet is finally showing a positive return on BlackBerry! Only took three years. Of course at the same time BlackBerry finally went positive gains for me, AMD flushed and ate all the BlackBerry gains. It's all a casino. But I digress!

This does not corroborate the rumour. This article quotes the SAME PhoneRadar article as the OP linked us to.

This is how rumours gain traction!
