I thought the CDMA version was good for sprint but maybe not? I really hate having to wait "until the summer" to order the keyone for Sprint.

I was so ready to get the unlocked one until I read that. I remember Sprint's this summer perfectly: I was waiting all summer for the HTC 8XT, another niche smartphone. The announced it in June. It wasn't sold until August 8th.

Don't rely on Amazon for accurate answers. The info is easily found. The BB100-3 will be the Sprint version.

But it is the BlackBerry mobile it self that answer the question whether it will work on sprint or not and they said no

They're just saying that having the compatible bands is not enough, Sprint has to whitelist the KeyOne which may not happen until they are ready with the carrier branded phone.

so if the bands are compatible, do you think buying it unlocked cdma now would be a bad idea?

Probably a bad idea. If it's not whitelisted, then Sprint won't activate it. If Sprint won't whitelist it until they get their own, then you'll have a WiFi grounded KeyOne until then. It could be months.

If you buy the phone from sprint full price won't they charge you an activation fee and all that other nonsense? Wouldn't you save a few bucks buying it on amazon and just waiting for sprint to whitelist?

That would be the only reason, and a sad situation for those on Sprint. Be great if someone could get an official response from them. Also, won't be many days till someone with a BB100-3 can pop in a SIM, and verify whether it's truly blacklisted.

I just got the sprint keyone and it's the exact same BBB100-3 US v2 as the one compatible with Verizon. there also no extra branding or any distinguishing attributes until you activate the phone. after that, sprint takes a dump of bloatware on your phone.
