I bought a KeyOne from a BEST BUY store TODAY! (6/1/2017)
Hello All!
I am a longtime lurker of crackberry but I was too lazy to create an account.
IN SHORT: I called a Best Buy and they actually found 2 KeyOne's in my city after all... in 2 very outlier Best Buy locations! Try and call a few Best Buy's, give them the SKU# of the KeyOne(which is on their website), tell them to double check because online may say it's sold out, and hopefully they have one afterall. I hope I don't waste anyone's time or give someone false hope, but if you are really desperate for the new phone because perhaps your current Blackberry is on it's last limb and you were trying to hold out until the KeyOne is released, then maybe you can give it a shot, and make a few calls. *phew*
LONG STORY: Okay, so this kinda thing never happens to me, but thank God I decided to call a Best Buy again today to see if by some chance they had one in stock. I live in the 4th Largest Metropolitan City in the United States, and after reading these threads on Crackberry all day yesterday, I pretty much figured those in smaller towns would have a better chance at snagging a KeyOne at a Best Buy than me. I want to purchase a K1 from Best Buy because of the Geek Squad protection that covers cracks, water damage, malfunctioning period. So that's why I didn't want to get one from Amazon(besides they were sold out by the time I got to looking smh).Yesterday I called the nearest Best Buy to me and the assistant said they haven't heard of it, but put me on hold and came back to say they didn't have any in stock and said there's none actually in the whole city, or state for that matter. Later in the day as I was searching for answers, confused by the lack of product of this whole rollout I decided let me call a random Best Buy in Seattle(lol)...the sweetest person did all kinds of cross searches, etc. and she said she's been getting calls about this and unfortunately she's not seeing anymore KeyOne's in stock in the state, better yet the whole country. She was just as surprised as us with the unavailability of product and whatnot. So then I really gave up and turned to Crackberry to soothe my pain, or to see if someone found out something great like actually there's going to be more KeyOne's out by next week, BUT I didn't see that and I started looking for my sister's old Galaxy because my Blackberry Classic is all kinds of tore up. FAST FORWARD to today, I decide: let me call one last Best Buy, so I chose one by a really deserted mall. The person checks the system says they don't even see a K1, then I insist the phone exists and it's listed on their website...I give them the SKU# and they say "we don't have that in stock, actually wait" put me on hold for a while, comes back and lo and behold they came to see that there are some in only 2 locations in our ENTIRE city. I hurriedly call 1 of them to check and I felt like I was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.. I found the golden ticket. The location had 1...ONLY 1 KeyOne! And they said they assume they were only given 1! At first they were like we don't have any and blah blah blah but I told them to check again, and that I was told their location has 1, and they found out that yeah they actually do. Sooo, I called the other location because its a 1 hour drive compared to the 1 hour and 15 minute drive I would've had to make to the other location and after being on hold for a while they confirmed they actually have 1, and only 1 KeyOne, and there were only 2 locations in my whole city that currently have 1(confirming what the 1st representative told me). SOOO all in all guys, I hope I don't give you all false hope, or waste your time but I just wanted to share this victory with you and hope that there are maybe some KeyOne's left at your local Best Buys after all! I don't know if these were the only 2 Best Buys in my entire city to have ever had a KeyOne for release date or not, but I was definitely shocked at A. The locations of the Best Buys that had them(very random, outlier kinda locations) and B. that each store only had 1 KeyOne.
Well Good Luck to you all, and again I hope I don't give anyone false hope or waste your time, thanks for reading, and good luck.
