Well that sucks. That's one of my biggest complaints about Passport SE. It seems they used the same vibrator as in original Passport and it just doesn't work with the metal frame.
My phone is on vibrate all the time. I had to set important messages to vibrate 6 times to give me a chance of feeling/hearing it on the SE. Whih gets confusing because it sounds like a phone call lol
No way to adjust vibrate strength or duration on K1 to maye make it more noticeable?
I think it's perfect. It's strong enough where you can fell it, but not loud enough to be annoying like some other Android phones. It's almost on par with Apple's taptic engine.

I'm on SE and never had your experience. I think it depends where you place it. Very noticeable on a flat surface.
Mine definitely isn't like that. I can be holding it in my hand and not know it vibrated. I spent almost a month with crackberry and BlackBerry Support and they all determined it was normal. Maybe I'll have to send it back lol. It's still under warranty and the bottom row of keys is almost unusable anyways.
Hopefully the KeyOne is better than what I'm used to now then at least
