i have a text message ringtone that last about 6 seconds. In BB10, i could press any # keys and it would mute it. i tried everything with the keyone... and being new to android doesnt help.

    any help?

Is there a reason why you would need a 6 second sound if you don't want to hear 6 seconds of it?

I've read the convenience key can be set to mute the mic, not sure if you can set it to mute a tone.

Or an app called keymapper might do what you want or assigning a shortcut to a key. Not sure that is possible either.
