    Hello all,

I have been the victim of screen separation. I just got my advanced replacement KEYone in the mail today.

I would like to do a device transfer from my old KEYone to the new KEYone. Apps, Settings, messages, home screen configurations, etc. Like what Samsung's Smart Switch does for Samsung devices.

I know BB has the content transfer app, but that doesn't transfer settings, or home screen layout, etc.

Do you guys have any ideas?

Start new phone, enter your Google account. It will ask you if you want to transfer your data from your old phone over, it will use both nfc chips to connect the phones.

Hey John, thank you for your reply.

What i have found with the NFC transfer is that it just transfers my google account info.

If i do the restore a back up, it just downloads my apps, not my settings, or home screen layouts.

    Unless I'm missing something.

You can't really restore settings and layout. It's on purpose.

Android has several OEMs and several versions at the same time. As such, they have to support all of them.

If you were moving from a Keyone to some other device with another Android version or another launcher, things could break, badly.

    So launcher settings aren't saved.

That's why you use custom launchers like Nova, and others, because you can save settings with them.

I get that Google wouldn't do it, shouldn't BlackBerry be able to?

I'm pretty sure Samsung SmartSwitch does with Galaxy to Galaxy.

This is a bummer. I'm awaiting my K1 and was wondering about how to transfer everything to the K1. Smart switch works pretty well so I was hoping BB would have something similar.

BlackBerry is putting a bare minimum amount of work into Android. and in fact, the new company is TCL.

    so BlackBerry is doing nothing

Blackberry Limited handles the software while BlackBerry Mobile handles the hardware.

I don't think so. I think they handed off all development to BbMobile.

The only things they seem to work on are the BlackBerry branded apps.

Maybe I'm wrong, but looking at the Keyone issues and the lack of updates for the older models?
