I had a BB9930 which crashed. My data is backed up on my PC using the BB desktop. I just got a new BB Key1. I tried to open BB desktop but it does not recognize the BB key1. What can I do? I am not computer tech savy.

The backup file is some form of Zip file but I'm not sure you can extract it.

Did you backup contacts, calendar with Gmail or Yahoo or OUtlook? If so, that data can be retrieved.

As for other data, it may be lost. A similar suggestion I made to someone else today was to possibly find a cheap 9930 and see if you can restore your data. Then maybe you can use Content Transfer to move some of it over or at least copy it to a computer.

(ANYONE know does Content Transfer has a 9930 (BBOS) version?)

I periodically backed up the data using the BB desktop so it is on the computer I guess. What is Content Transfer? Is that a software program?
