On the prepaid weather app would display notification temperature reading on the bar at all times even when the app was closed where is now with the keyone this notification disappears as soon as the app is closed... Is there a way to overcome this and cause a persistent temperature display at the top left corner of the phone?
I use the WeatherBug app and the current temperature is always displayed on the notification bar even if the app is closed. You can even change the color in the app settings.

however, I tried a few and notifications don't persist when apps close... same for clipstack and silentscreenshot app...what is wrong?
^It's the June update bug. The notifications won't show if the app is closed. It's the same way with me with The Weather Channel app.
With Nougat I have added a weather tile so when I pull down settings it's always there!
It's sad that this notification bug has been a thing for so long that people are starting to think it's the normal (non) functionality of the phone.
Do not have this bug! And have asked others and they the same?
I use 1Weather app! And in the settings you can apply a status bar icon for tempab
actually I tried several weather apps including one weather and none of them will persistently show the temperature in the status bar when the app is closed although there is a workaround which is to insert a widget on one of the pages that later in the list that you don't have to look at and in that case the temperature is displayed. I believe that the failure to post a temperature in the status bar when the app is not running is a bug in the July update According to some posters here and hopefully will be fixed. other apps are affected besides weather. as you can tell the automatic capitalization after a sentence ends is not functioning either.
