One thing I like about BB10 is the ability to group apps and/or homescreen shortcuts. So, for example, under a folder 'finance' I have links to various financial institutions, credit card websites, etc., with their logos displayed. Can this be done on android/K1?

You can make folders. Those various financial institutions will probably have an actual app on Android for your use instead of using their mobile pages.

but, if you prefer their mobile pages, you can have mobile page links as well.

for example, amazon, ebay, facebook, etc. their apps are HUGE and some are giant memory hogs (facebook) so i prefer to forgo the app and access them via chrome to save both space and memory.
